When planning a trip, I often consult tons of different resources online months before I even begin to pack my bags. In case you’re planning a similar trip, here’s a living document of what all I’ve found so far. Selfishly for me, it’s a great way for me to wrangle together all the things I want to do, or have been recommended, so the post will continue to grow as my trip draws nearer. If you’ve been to Paris before, let me know of any musts in the comments!

  • The Hoxton Paris - I booked this hotel for my February trip, and couldn’t be more excited if I tried. Located in the 2nd Arrondissement, it’s centrally located between Le Marais, Sacre Coeur, and the Eiffel Tower - with all in easy walking distance from the hotel. It also hits that sweet spot of fancy and fun, while still being budget friendly. I’m excited to check out all the common spaces in the hotel, and see if the Shoebox room is really as small as the name suggests. I found a killer deal for ~$163/night on Google Hotels, and booked directly through the Hoxton’s website.

  • This Airbnb was a close contender when I was considering where to stay. It’s in Le Marias, and just seems like a picture perfect Parisian attic apartment in Le Marais. It’s simultaneously glam and shabby, traditional and also has all the modern conveniences you need (hi, Nespresso machine and A/C). Ultimately, it was a little pricer than I wanted to spend for one person, but would be amazing for a couple or small group of friends. The same owner has a few other apartments that look equally lovely.

  • Jacques’ Bar - Moroccan inspired cocktails in the Hoxton.

  • Planche Wine Bar - also at the Hoxton.

  • Bisou - Millenial Pink custom cocktail bar.

  • Bar Hemmingway - Classic cocktail bar, famed for being liberated from the Nazis by Ernest Hemminway. Recently went through a huge facelift.

  • Candelaria - Frequently tops the best bars lists, offers a mezcal flight (yum) and has the cutest sign out front.

  • Le Comptoir General - Description includes “too cool for school” and “worth it” along with descriptions of vintage armchairs and old posters. Sold.

  • Little Red Door - Features 14 cocktails in an illustrated menu, but none of the ingredients are listed so you get to guess.

  • Experimental Cocktail Club - seemingly the gold standard for cocktail bars in Paris. Many of the bars above were started by people associated with ECC in the past.

  • Rivie - also in the Hoxton, so I’ll definitely check this out. Serves French food all day.

  • Cafe de Flore - very cute place for breakfast

  • Angelina - for Macarons and amazing hot chocolate
